Drzewiecki Design has released an updated version of its scenery for Poland’s John Paul II Airport (EPKK) in Kraków. This new version features several improvements to the airport’s models, satellite imagery, terrain, and LOD optimizations for MSFS 2024.
John Paul II Airport is Kraków, Poland’s main international airport and the second-largest in the country, handling nearly ten million passengers in 2023. It is located in the town of Balice, just 11km west of the city center. The airport features a single 2,550 m runway, international and domestic terminals, and service from many of Europe’s biggest carriers, including KLM, British Airways, and Lufthansa.

Drzewiecki Design’s Kraków is an up-to-date rendition of the airport that features high-quality models for all of the airport’s buildings, a high-definition mesh that includes the runway profile, dynamic lighting, PBR materials, and more. For those concerned about performance, the developer has stated that this scenery has an FPS-friendly design.
The enhancements don’t stop at John Paul II airport, as this scenery also features the historic Kraków-Rakowice–Czyżyny Airport (EPKC). The old, disused airfield is occasionally open for certain types of aircraft and houses the Polish Aviation Museum, which is also modeled. Additionally, this scenery includes many of Kraków City’s landmarks and several heliports.

Drzewiecki Design has previously released another version of this scenery. The new V2 version features several improvements over the old one, including a new ground layout, cargo building, car models, static aircraft, handling vehicles, navaid models, satellite imagery, and LOD optimizations for MSFS 2024.
Drzewiecki Design’s John Paul II Airport is available from simMarket for a price of €19.00 EUR and is compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. Owners of the V1 version of Kraków Airport by the same developer are entitled to an upgrade price of €15.00 EUR.
