The developer Fenix released the highly anticipated and recently teased update of their Fenix Airbus A320 series for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and MSFS 2024. This update improves a lot of things, including new ECAM logic, a better flight director, LNAV, VNAV and even artwork. The information about the release was posted through Fenix Simulations’ blog post.

The whole changelog was already showcased in the two-hour-long video, which you can read more about here. However, the Fenix team disclosed some more important information about the aircraft. Firstly, a hotfix for system crashes was already published, as Aamir mentioned on the Fenix Discord. Secondly, the team says that they expect that mods may be broken in this new version, as a lot of things changed.

As with any other aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the Fenix A320 version 3 is suffering from a bug with drag modelling. However, the team remains uncertain about what actually happens in the background with this issue, and is unsure of the effects it has on lateral and vertical autopilot navigation. The reason for this is that the testing did not show any significant issues with the model.

Lastly, there is a new Navdata updating process, which was moved from the Navigraph Hub application to the MCDU inside the aircraft. For that, you will have to authorise Navigraph to be used with the aeroplane. The updating process is then done through the AC STATUS page, where the active nav database is shown. There is also an option for automatic updates found in the EFB settings.

The update is completely free of charge for all current users of the Fenix Airbus A320 family. However, alongside this and the massive changelog accompanying this new aircraft version, there is no new information about the upcoming Fenix NEO family.
