FlightControlTools, developer of popular replay add-on FlightControlReplay, has announced FlightControlSpotter for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024. Revealed at FSExpo 2025 in Providence, RI, FlightControlSpotter promises to enhance MSFS camera controls by providing easy and intuitive topwer & spotting views, right from inside the simulator.

FlightControlSpotter Features
Developed by Fabio Merlo, FlightControlSpotter will provide control tower camera views, “spot” views (such as a runway or parking stand), and the ability to customize both. You will be able to select control tower and spotter views automatically by ICAO, with no tedious customization required, for quick camera work. All views can be accessed easily from the in-sim toolbar, and custom views can be renamed, and saved for quick access later.
FlightControlSpotter will use MSFS’ built-in drone camera for ease of integration. Everything that the drone camera has to offer – freedom of movement, zoom, pan, tilt, rotate, and more – will be available when customizing views. Simmers can retake control of their aircraft easily with one control shortcut once you’re done capturing the action.

FlightControlSpotter Release Date and Pricing
FlightControlSpotter is set to release sometime during the summer of 2025 on the SIMMARKET store, and will be initially available for PC only. FlightControlTools stated, however, that they will be bringing an Xbox version of the upcoming MSFS camera tool to the Marketplace at some point after the planned PC release.

FlightControlSpotter will be available as a standalone product or as a bundle included with FlightControlReplay 5. Pricing has not yet been released, but FlightControlTools stated that it is planned to be “very reasonable.” Existing owners of FlightControlReplay 5 will be eligible to purchase FlightControlSpotter for a discounted price.
