FlightControlTools Announces FlightControlReplay 6 November Update

FlightControlTools announced a free November update for FlightControlReplay 6 with a Companion App and Compact Mode for MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020.

FlightControlTools has announced the first free update pack for FlightControlReplay 6, its replay and flight analysis tool for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and 2020. Lead developer Fabio Merlo revealed the November Update Pack during a live presentation on the FSElite Stage at the FSimUK 2026 event, held this weekend, October 10 and 11, at Aerospace Bristol in the UK. FlightControlTools is attending the show as a Gold sponsor.

FlightControlReplay is an add-on that records flights in the simulator and plays them back, so pilots can rewatch a flight from different camera angles, review it or capture footage.

The update adds two features aimed at reducing the space the tool takes up on screen. The first is a Companion App that lets users control FlightControlReplay 6 from an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. According to the developer, users scan a QR code shown by the software, and the device then opens a webpage with remote controls. Moving the controls to a second device frees up screen space for the cockpit, external views and scenery, which the developer says is particularly useful on a single monitor.

The second is Compact Mode, described as the smallest FlightControlReplay 6 interface so far. It keeps the most commonly used controls, such as Instant Replay, in a small desktop window. It is added to the existing interface-size selector, so users can cycle between the Complete, Medium, Small and Compact layouts.

The presentation also covered the main features of FlightControlReplay 6 itself. The developer says the version has a redesigned core engine and utility layout, along with a one-click Cinematic Mode with automatic camera effects such as Wing Reveal, Wing Sweep and Orbit.

A FlyBy Camera can track the aircraft live or during a replay. Flight Highlights automatically picks out moments such as take-off, steep turns and landing. Path Track shows the recorded flight path in 3D, and a Data Logger offers customisable telemetry graphs and printable reports. Support for custom replay and for recording and playing back LVARs is included for aircraft add-ons.

The November Update Pack will be free for FlightControlReplay 6 users on both simulators. No exact release date was given, and FlightControlTools says further details will follow as the update approaches. The price of FlightControlReplay 6 was not stated in the announcement. The tool is sold through simMARKET, where the product page is available. Visitors to FSimUK can also see live demonstrations at the FlightControlTools booth, next to FlyByWire Simulations and MOZA.
