FlyTampa has a few days ago taken to their Facebook page to update the community on their highly awaited Corfu island rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The post also confirmed that Athens Airport (LGAV), also for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has entered the beta testing stage.

The scenery was previously released with great success for X-Plane 11 and is still nowadays considered as one of the best sceneries for the platform ever done.

The previews showcase the beautiful cities of Kerkyra (Corfu Town), the capital city of the island, and Paleokastritsa, a very popular summer spot in the northwestern part of the island. It’s clear from the previews that the developers are, as well as with the X-Plane 11 version, also working on recreating the whole island to a high level.

Unfortunately, no information was provided on the expected release date or pricing. The scenery has been however in development for a while now and we expect the release to not be very far away.

The island of Corfu is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea just about two miles west of Albania and Greece. There is only one airport serving the whole island, Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport (LGKR), in the city of Kerkyra, also known as Corfu Town. The airport is known for its very short runway and challenging, but very scenic, approach just next to the mountains and above the sea.
