FlyTampa is a fairly quiet developer who doesn’t release a lot of previews or information until shortly before the release of an addon. Every time FlyTampa posts something on their Facebook page, it’s exciting news. This time too, as they released their first addon for Microsoft Flight Simulator: Copenhagen Kastrup (EKCH). But this is an exception as previews were shared quite sometime before the release.
FlyTampa announced cryptically that they would bring Copenhagen, among others to MSFS. Previews were shared two weeks later. Those previews focused mainly on the terminal, but now we can enjoy the entire addon.
Copenhagen Airport is the biggest airport in the Nordic countries, and one of the biggest in Europe in general. It’s also a very old airport, but that doesn’t take anything away from it. It served just over 30 million people in 2019. Copenhagen airport is not only important for the Danish capital or Sealand, but also for the Swedish Scania province to which it is connected with the Øresund Bridge. This world-famous bridge can be seen in the simulator too.
The add-on does not limit itself to the terminal exterior. All airport structures are a part of it, as is the terminal interior. The apron is filled with cars, vehicles, luggage carts and more. It uses custom animated jetways. Dynamic lighting is a standard these days, but still worth mentioning. A full feature list can be found below.
