The developers at FlyTampa have recently released their rendition of Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport (LGKR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. FlyTampa has already released a rendition of Corfu for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane. Their Corfu scenery for X-Plane is widely recognized and appreciated by the community.
The scenery features all of the basic stuff. Such as custom animated vehicle traffic and animated passenger crowd, PBR materials or custom sea vessels with AI routes around Corfu Island. They have also brought to life the interior of the terminal. These features give the user an even more significant immersive experience.
The developers have modelled a full rendition of Corfu Island. Thus the scenery does not only cover the airport but also Corfu’s scenic cities and villages, including Kerkyra, its capital city.
Corfu International Airport operates both scheduled and charter flights from European Cities. The airport’s main airlines are TUI, Ryanair and Aegean. Corfu Airport is located 2km from the city centre of Corfu. The proximity of hills and their position right under the approach path makes a straight-in approach impossible. Corfu is considered one of the most difficult approaches in Europe.
