FlyTampa Releases Sydney v2.5, Major Update

 

FlyTampa, a developer known for past releases such as Athens Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has taken to its Facebook page to announce the latest update to Sydney Airport. Among the main refinements, version 2.5 includes a variety of new models, textures, and improved MSFS 2024 compatibility.

About Sydney International Airport

Located not far from the city, Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (YSSY) is the busiest in Australia, handling over 42 million passengers per year. The airport has three runways and is served by many worldwide-known airlines such as Emirates, American Airlines, LATAM Airlines, and Australia’s flag airline Qantas.

What’s New in Version 2.5? – Changelog

  • Added new ramp: Parking 122 – 125. Parking spaces 83 to 85 were also reworked
  • New taxiways D and J
  • Reservoir reworked – Apron now overlaps water
  • All the groundwork was cleaned up
  • New runway and taxiways textures. New taxiway lights
  • New Radar/weather tower models
  • Motorway tunnels under the runway were remodeled
  • Car parks were cleaned up, and new markings were added
  • New jetway model and Binge/Optus logos
  • GA ramp buildings/hangars remodeled, as well as the DHL Cargo building
  • Sheps mound improved
  • Fences remodeled in 3D, as well as the car rental buildings
  • McDonald’s and BP station remodeled
  • Terminal interior added to the rear section of the Domestic terminal
  • Carparks improved for the International Terminal and long stay
  • Old Control Tower Remodeled
  • New West Bridge
  • Improved 3D Rocks
  • Libraries updated
  • Performance optimization and LODs
  • Improved MSFS 2024 compatibility
  • Various miscellaneous improvements

Closing Notes

The airport is available for both MSFS 2020 and 2024 through Orbx for approximately US$15.08 (€13,51 or £11.36). It is also compatible with Cityscape Sydney.
