FlyTampa Releases Toronto Airport for MSFS

After months of silence, FlyTampa has today released their rendition of Toronto Airport (CYYZ) for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Although in a post earlier today the developers from FlyTampa have stated to release the scenery within the upcoming two days, the release of their Toronto Airport (CYYZ) rendition in fact came through just a few moments ago.

The community is making speculations that the prompt release is connected to the earlier release of the same airport scenery but from RegDesigns.

FlyTampa has last time publicly mentioned this project back in July 2021 when they endorsed the release is close. Nevertheless, the scenery comes with noticeable improvements from the older Prepar3D sibling.

Flight simmers can look forward to enjoying high-resolution textures with PBR materials and dynamic lighting for the best experience throughout the day, up-to-date layout based on the latest available data from 2021-22, or recreated terminal interior models.

With that being said, and looking at the previews, the interior seems to be recreated to a very high level of detail.

The currently available feature list is very brief, hence we can’t go in-depth about what the scenery has to offer, and have to work only with information available to us.

In the comment section under the post, flight sim community members asked the developers about the timing of the release. FlyTampa explained, that the scenery has been in fact 99% done 6 months ago, but due to personal and family reasons, the last 1% took much longer than expected.

The developers have further also stated, that their Boston Airport (KBOS) rendition is currently nearing completion.

Toronto Pearson Intl Airport is the main international airport serving the region of Toronto. It’s the largest and busiest airport in Canada. It’s also the primary hub for Air Canada and Westjet. With that being said, it of course offers a plethora of routes ranging from short-hauls with Dash 8’s to long-haul flights with the Dreamliners and similar aircraft.

The scenery can be purchased through the developer’s website for $17.99, or about €16 when converted. Although the scenery was previously released for Prepar3D, FlyTampa has made the decision to not offer owners any upgrade options.
