Laminar Research has recently shared some previews of their upcoming default Frankfurt scenery for X-Plane 12. The developer shared these previews through their Twitter and other social media accounts.
This new Frankfurt scenery should ship alongside the release of X-Plane 12 very soon. As you can see from the previews, the scenery doesn’t offer ortho imagery of the surrounding area, which gives away the most that this is a default airport. There are also clearly default taxiway and runway textures, that the developer severely edited to come up with modern standards.
While clearly many of the assets are default, the developer Jan created a detailed rendition of the airport. There are custom 3D models of the terminal, presumably static aircraft and much more.
