Following the announcement made last month, FS Academy has now officially released its new IFR Training Pack “INTERCEPTOR” for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The 30-mission training pack, built by a real airline captain, is designed to teach flight simmers how to safely fly beyond the mist.

A New Step-by-Step Training Pack

Designed to teach in different scenarios and environments, from legacy gauges to glass cockpits, FS Academy’s newest release INTERCEPTOR provides all the necessary skills needed to rely on the flight instruments. By using internationally compatible techniques and procedures, this new training pack covers a wide variety of topics that are crucial to embarking on your journey beyond the clouds.

Essential Topics Covered

  • Attitude flying on instruments, the instrument scan pattern
  • VOR and NDB navigation, including the use of the Omni-Bearing Selector (OBS)
  • Navaid tuning, identification, and displays
  • Instrumentation failures, known as partial panel
  • Compass and procedure turns, enroute turn anticipation, DME arcs
  • Holding patterns and their entry procedures, including accounting for wind drift
  • ILS, VOR, and NDB approaches, circling including with prescribed tracks
  • To finalize, a culminating in a two-part Instrument Rating Skills Test

The training pack is exclusive to MSFS 2024 PC and Xbox users, and is now available on the activities-training section of the in-sim marketplace for USD $29.99, excluding tax.
