The developer FSDG has taken to their Facebook page to announce a new scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. This time, the team is taking us to Cape Verde, specifically Amílcar Cabral International Airport (GVAC).

This airport is located on the island of Sal, and it is considered the main gateway to the islands. Initially, the airport was founded in 1939 by Italy, serving as a stopping point for flights between Europe and South America. The operations at this airport were ceased during World War II, and it resumed operations in 1949 under Portuguese management.

Currently, Cabo Verde Sal Airport is served by a single terminal and a single runway, which is almost 3.3 kilometres long. This landing strip was also designated to accommodate a Space Shuttle.

The rendition by FSDG offers a highly detailed replica of this airport, with an updated ground layout to reflect the airport in its current real-life state, detailed 3D interior and surrounding models, as well as good optimisation. The team has also used modern Microsoft Flight Simulator technologies for the best possible experience, including PBR textures and dynamic lighting.

The scenery can now be purchased through the FSDG website for €19.99. You can also read more about the developer through one of our articles here.
