FSDG Releases Greenland Kulusuk for MSFS

Explore the beauty of Greenland in Microsoft Flight Simulator with the latest addition to FSDG’s portfolio, Kulusuk Airport and city for MSFS.

Flight Sim Development Group, also known as FSDG, has released their rendition of Kulusuk and the local airport, located in Greenland, for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This marks their return to the Arctic in 10 years, after their popular scenery of Nuuk for Flight Simulator X and Prepar3D.

Kulusuk Airport (BGKK), originally opened by the US defence in 1956, is now one of the worldโ€™s smallest international hubs. Located less than 400 miles from Keflavik, the airport is a great way to see both Iceland and Greenland in one short flight.ย Although closed in 1991 for military, it now serves as the central hub for East Greenland, seeing direct flights to the Nuuk and international service to Keflavik, Iceland. Additionally, it sees helicopter service to East Greenlandโ€™s largest town, Tasiilaq, as the heliport can not suit fixed-wing aircraft.

Kulusuk airport operates with one gravel runway of only 3900 feet, which is mostly covered in snow or ice during winter. Although small, the airport does offer a museum, a duty-free stand and a small cafeteria. Additionally, located so far north, it presents the opportunity to experience the midnight sun, with the longest day being 23 hours and 8 minutes in June. All of the above makes this airport stand out, which many simmers will enjoy.

The scenery of Kulusuk for MSFS was developed with current technologies, allowing for accurate dynamic lighting, including during nighttime, and reflections on textures, for example.

Key features of the scenery include a fully accurate layout and representation of the airport and its surroundings, including the nearby town of Kulusuk. Flight simmers can enjoy custom buildings with high-resolution textures across the scenery.

The developers also paid attention to the vicinity of the airport and town, bringing to life even nearby icebergs, allowing pilots departing and arriving at the airport to immerse themselves fully into the Arctic region.

The Kulusuk scenery from FSDG also features sloped ground and runway, bringing an extra challenge to pilots.

Kulusuk for MSFS is available through FSDGโ€™s online store for 8,99โ‚ฌ and is compatible with both MSFS 2020 and 2024. The scenery is also compatible with all known add-ons, so there should be no conflict with your existing scenery.
