FlightSim Development Group (FSDG) has announced the release of a new regional landmarks package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 (MSFS2020 and MSFS2024), titled “Landmarks of Germany – Saxony & Saxony-Anhalt”. This latest release adds a wide range of detailed, custom-modeled points of interest across the eastern German states of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, aiming to enhance flying experiences for us VFR (Visual Flight Rules) pilots.
The add-on includes over 2,000 unique structures carefully placed into the simulator world. Modeled are a variety of landmarks such as the famous coal miners, historical buildings, observation towers, radar stations, bridges, cooling towers, chimneys, and numerous antennas. This add-on encourages GA-pilots to navigate using visual references rather than relying solely on GPS or autopilot systems, offering a more immersive and authentic flying experience.

FSDG’s Landmarks of Germany Series: Eventually Covering the whole Country
FSDG notes that this product is part of a larger “Landmarks of Germany” series that will eventually cover the entire country. Other regions are already in development and will be released progressively. This modular approach allows users to customize their scenery collection according to their preferences.
“Landmarks of Germany – Saxony & Saxony-Anhalt” has been released as version 1.0 and is compatible with both MSFS 2020 and the upcoming MSFS 2024 edition. The add-on requires a PC with a 64-bit operating system, a 3D graphics card with at least 1 GB of dedicated video memory for optimal performance.

A full list of included landmarks, as well as screenshots and user feedback, can be found on FSDG’s official website and forum. The package is available for purchase now for €11.99 (including VAT).
