Flight Sim Development Group (FSDG) took to their Facebook page to announce the release of the fifth Landmarks of Germany series add-on: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. With the release of this add-on, the developer has successfully marked the halfway point in their journey to create landmarks for all federal states of Germany, as this is the eighth release in the series.

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is one of 16 federal states in Germany. It is located in the northeastern part of Germany and borders Poland on its east side. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is home to numerous islands. Two of the largest and most well-known islands in the state are Rügen and Usedom. The state is a part of the Pomerania region that stretches from Gdansk in Poland down to Stralsund in Germany.

The add-on contains over 1,000 objects and points of interest spread all over the state. The points of interest list reveals over 40 custom-created objects. There are 19 piers along the Baltic Sea coastline, starting in Ahlbeck, a city located on Usedom island next to the border with Poland, and ending in Boltenhagen, situated at the western border of the state.

Besides piers, the points of interest list tells about four bridges, including the Rügen Bridge, that connects Rügen island to mainland Germany. There are also five churches and five castles on the list. From the general VFR objects, many antennas, chimneys, cooling towers, radar and radio towers, solar parks, and water towers are added all over the state. Additionally, the developer added custom power lines with different power towers and custom fully functional wind turbines affected by wind strength and heading.

The FSDG Landmarks of Germany: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is now available on the FSDG website for EUR 9.99 tax included. To learn more about FSDG’s releases, check out our coverage of their Victoria Falls scenery release here.
