FSLabs, formerly known as Flight Sim Labs, responsible for add-ons like spotlights, A320 family and Concorde, has shared some information about the future of Airbus family and the development.
First of all, the developer said that they will work on the new hotfix of P3D v4.5. The products will have a support on this version, even though entirely new simulator has been released. This quick update should be ready within few days.
Regarding the P3D v5, the developers are deeply working and testing the Airbus family compatible with this version. They will also need to change some base codes, due to the change from DX11 do DX12 and there are also some PBR modelling updates to take the full advantage of v5. They also have to test the FSLabs performance with DX12 with lower graphics cards, to see, how it is behaving.
The developer also shared a roadmap regarding the FSLabs Airbus Family. The developers are working on the Sharklets add-on, but they are paralelly working on the updates. The release of the sharklet add-on should be in the coming weeks.
The first update will be for Airbus A320, they are going to release several exciting features and new logic. Some of the main new features that will be included in the A320 update are for example IRS INIT page updated, CPDLC, DCDU all new PBR on the external for both CFM and IAE and more.
The next is FSLabs A321-X and the developers expect that it will be released after the A320 update very shortly. It will recieve updated S8 version of FMGS logic and benefit from those code changes, also, they are looking into some PBR ehnancements.
The A319-X will also get its update. The aircraft should recieve PBR textures and the same FMGS, CPDLC and CPDU updates. This updsate should drop right after the A321-X.
As mentioned up in the article, there is coming Sharklets expansion for the Airbus family products. The SL models will recieve two model variants – CFM and IAE. The sharklets update will be only for the A320 and A321. “It will be released as single product package at an attractive price”, developer said. This won’t be only visual add-on, the aircraft with sharklets will have a slightly different flight model and different fuel usage.
The last but not least, the developer talked about the P3D v5 update – This will be free of charge for all current customers, so you can continue purchasing the v4 version without being scared about getting charged for v5 updates.
