FSLabs Shares Video of A321 in MSFS, Showing Its Well-Known Feature

Back in Prepar3D days, Flight Sim Labs A320 series was known for being really advanced, both systems-wise and graphics-wise. The aircraft had incredible modelling, texturing and environmental behaviour, that would change depending on precipitation, wind, humidity and more.

After the recent introduction of FSLabs A321 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the developer shared a video showing the well-known icing and de-icing feature available for this aircraft. This feature thus makes its way to the Microsoft Flight Simulator version of the add-on, which is great news for FSLabs fans.

The aircraft accumulates snow cover on its fuselage and flight surfaces during snow showers. The more you are on the ground and the more it snows, the bigger the snow cover is on the aircraft. This means that you are required to de-ice the aircraft before departure, otherwise, it won’t fly properly, or at all, for that matter.

De-icing service can be called through the MCDU in the FSLabs A321’s cockpit. There, you can choose the de-icing fluid type, and whether it will be done on the stand or remote de-icing area at the airport. You will have to arrange to call for the de-icing service through the aircraft’s interphone.

The de-icing service is a full GSX integration, and the aircraft seamlessly communicates with the GSX Pro menu. Once the de-icing service is complete, the aircraft will have its snow cover removed and a green-tinted fluid can be visible on the aircraft. The aircraft’s holdover time is also simulated. This essentially means that after you apply your de-icing fluid, you will have to wait a certain period of time before take-off for the fluid to do its magic.

More information might be shared about the FSLabs A321 soon, in the meantime, make sure to read our previous article on the official reveal of this aircraft.
