HiFi Simtech Announces Active Sky P3D

Hifi Simtech, as many other developers, will also port their weather add-ons to be compatible with newest Prepar3D version – P3D v5. Active Sky P3D should replace the older Active Sky 16 or ASP4.

The information was shared on their website and the article talks about when it should be released, reveals some main features of it and pricing for current users, etc. First of all, there is an upgrade beta offer, so you can participate in open beta, for free. Also, the free upgrade from ASP4 will be for free only for a limited time. The ASP3D should work with normal and enhanced atmospherics as well, there is going to be a new XGauge design that works for all aircraft at any time without requiring panel additions, new networking that eliminates the need of Simconnect. Please keep in mind that the Enhanced Atmospherics is in beta stage, so ASP3D may cause some problems, as the developer wrote. In the Enhanced Atmospherics, you won’t be able to see in-cloud visibility reduction, high resolution radar/precip, smooth theme reloads and ASCA integrated enhancements.

The official release schedule is not yet known, but they hope to see open beta coming within the next 24 hours. The open beta period should take two to three weeks but many factors can change this. All the ASP4 licenses can participate at any time during the Open Beta period. The developer will provide us with more details regarding open beta soon.
