Horizon Simulations Joins Orbx Partner Family and Announces New 787 Updates

Horizon Simulations, the team behind various FlyByWire compatibility mods for third-party aircraft, have announced via their discord that they have joined the Orbx partner family. This new partnership will bring lots of new content to Orbx users, as well as bringing their add-ons to the Microsoft Marketplace.

Looking to expand their content to more users in flight simulation, the team had been looking for the best platform to integrate their add-ons seamlessly. Finding a good platform for this allows them to create a much easier experience for simmers looking to enjoy their add-ons from both PC and Xbox. This partnership also means you will see their add-ons landing on the Microsoft Marketplace.

Freeware offerings from Horizon Simulations, such as their liveries by Hues, LVFR FlyByWire compatibility add-ons and their highly anticipated B787-10, will all remain free on Orbx Direct and Central. Joining the Orbx partner family means the team can push their add-ons more seamlessly to both PC and Xbox via the Microsoft Marketplace.

All previously released content from Horizon Simulations will be downloadable via Orbx Central. This platform will also allow the developers to quickly and easily push updates to simmers with automatic installations and updates.

Horizon Simulations B787

Coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is Horizon’s B787-10 add-on. This is based upon the premium B787 released by Microsoft and is being created to accurately represent the -10 variant of the B787. Horizon is doing the same for the B747-8F, creating a more realistic add-on to represent the B747 Freighter variant as it’s seen in real life.

The 787-9 has also been announced to be released on the Microsoft Marketplace, coming soon to PC and Xbox users. They have collaborated with Orbx and the Marketplace team to make the B787-9 available at an affordable price. This allows more simmers to enjoy Horizon Simulations’ more premium products at affordable prices and directly in the simulator.

V1.2 of the 787-9 is now available for download and while it’s a small update, it will still bring plenty to the aircraft such as a reworked flight model. Horizon Simulations also confirmed V2 of the 787-9 is underway, with some very exciting changes now available to try via Orbx Central or the Headwind Simulations installer.
