Horizon Simulations Releases 787-9 MSFS 2024 Update

Horizon Simulations has recently released an update for its popular freeware Boeing 787-9 add-on that makes it compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Horizon Simulations has recently released an update for its popular freeware Boeing 787-9 add-on that makes it compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Along with the update, some new details were shared about an upcoming ‘V2’ version that is in development.

Version 1.2.2 (and patches 1.2.3, 1.2.4) of the Horizon Simulations B787-9 features the long-awaited MSFS 2024 compatibility, along with a few bug fixes. The aircraft’s MSFS 2020 version used the Premium Deluxe edition’s default B787-X, which was required for it to work. While MSFS 2024 features a 787-X that is distinct from MSFS 2020’s, Horizon Simulations’ B787-9 still requires the MSFS 2020 version of the B787-X to be installed in MSFS 2024 for it to work.

Horizon Simulations has also shared some new information about what the team is working on for the 787’s upcoming V2 update. This update is expected to feature a completely new 3D model, new textures, new systems, and new sounds for each aircraft type.

Horizon Simulations’ B787-9 is available to download for free from the Headwind Installer or from Orbx Central. Keep in mind that, as previously mentioned, this aircraft requires the MSFS 2020 version of the B787-X, which is included in the Premium Deluxe version of the sim.
