iBlueYonder took to their Facebook page to surprise all X-Plane 12 pilots after announcing that they will soon bring their Dallas Love Field Airport rendition to the simulator. Read more to find out how you can also get this scenery free of charge.
This X-Plane 12 exclusive marks iBlueYonder’s debut on the X-Plane market. iBlueYonder has previously released Dallas Love Field (KDAL) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, available on the iniBuilds Store. After being approached by two third-party X-Plane developers, they agreed to let them port their artwork to the sim while upholding the standard and visuals seen in its native platform.
What’s There To ‘Love’ About Dallas?
Serving as the hub for Southwest Airlines, Dallas-Fort Worth’s little sister, Love Field, is situated a bit closer to the Dallas City Metropolitan area, which accounts for its large business jet network and traffic. Dallas is the third-largest city in the state of Texas by population. It has a bustling business district sprawling close to the Approach Path of Runways 31L and 31R. Before the construction of Fort Worth in 1974, it was the primary airport serving the northern part of Texas.

Between detailed terminal interiors and fully modelled Fixed-Base Operators (FBO) Buildings, if you’re a fan of jets, both big and small, this scenery has a lot to offer. It will provide a highly detailed and up-to-date layout of the airport concurrent with the recent renovations that took place.

From the preview screenshots, it is also revealed that the scenery will feature a custom rendition of downtown Dallas with realistic night lighting and highly detailed buildings, perfect for some wing-view screenshots when approaching from the south. This all comes included as part of the scenery package at no additional cost. The ground has custom Ortho imagery surrounding parts of the airport, bringing realism to the surface level.
