iBlueYonder Releases Trailer for Dallas Love Field for X-Plane 12

After the initial announcement on Facebook on the 2nd of May 2025, iBlueYonder has since released a trailer for the X-Plane 12 version of Dallas Love Field (KDAL) airport. The scenery was originally developed for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. X-Plane developers StableSystem and Joshomoore approached iBlueYonder to discuss a port for X-Plane 12, and after a year of collaborative development, iBlueYonder has shown a first look at the airport.

In the 2-minute-30-second video, Bill Womack, founder of iBlueYonder, showcases the airport from various interior and exterior angles. Highlights include custom groundwork and textures, an accurate night environment, and a detailed interior of the terminal. The add-on also features custom taxi signs, custom high-quality static aircraft, and has been highly optimised for performance, according to iBlueYonder. The developers have also gone beyond the airport borders and included a highly detailed Dallas Downtown area, making approaches and departures a visually stunning experience.

The MSFS 2020 version of the airport includes a bronze plaque commemorating Lyndon B. Johnson’s inauguration as the 36th President of the United States aboard Air Force One. As history buffs know, Dallas Love Field was the airport where John F. Kennedy landed on 22 November 1963 before he was tragically assassinated in Downtown Dallas. LBJ took the oath of office at KDAL two hours later, making it the only airport at which a President has been sworn in. Given iBlueYonder’s attention to detail, the XP12 version may include this plaque as well.
