iFly Shares New 737 MAX Images and Landing Video

iFly continues its streak of 737 MAX previews, this time not only sharing some close-up images of the exterior, but also a few videos that showcase the sounds of the aircraft. Among these videos is also the first landing video to be shared by the developer.

WestJet Livery

The latest images feature a WestJet livery and allow us to see all the little details that iFly has put into the aircraft’s model. Under-wing views show the attention to detail that iFly has put into the exterior model’s most complex areas, such as the flaps, engines, and landing gear.

The reflections on the aircraft in the images make the details in the PBR texturing stand out by showcasing the rivets and ribbing found throughout some of the aircraft’s metallic surfaces. This particular livery also features some light dirt and dust around the doors and on the underside near the tail. A couple of images of this WestJet-liveried MAX 8 in-flight were also shared.

iFly 737 MAX Sound Clips

A few short clips of the aircraft in action were shared. These clips all feature some of the sounds that Boris Audio Works has been recording for the aircraft. The latest video shows the aircraft landing from a cabin view, where we can hear some of the flap extension sounds, touchdown sounds, and thrust reverser sounds.

The next couple of clips feature a startup and flap extension. Notice in the flap extension clip that the sounds change as other hydraulically operated control surfaces are moved, which may be an indication of the complexity of the iFly 737 MAX’s hydraulic system.

That has been all for some of the latest previews of iFly’s upcoming 737 MAX 8. No new details on the aircraft’s release date or expected features have been shared thus far. These images and videos have been shared by the developers in Flight One’s Discord server.
