Immersive Audio took to its Facebook page to announce its latest product release: the MaddogX Sound Immersion NG for the Leonardo Fly The MaddogX. With this release, Immersive Audio aims to provide “an audible tribute to one of the most charismatic aircraft ever to grace the skies”.

Crafting the Sounds

The Immersive Audio team crafted 230 custom-made sounds and events, recorded from real MD80 series aircraft for over eight months. The sounds were created from scratch with 48kHz field recordings to aid in providing clarity in the sounds. Every detail, from switch rotations to the quirk of the window wind leak whistle on the FO’s side, has been included in this sound pack.

Key Features

The sound pack offers an immersive sound set. Sounds from the engines, to mechanical switches and buttons, and much more have been included. The complete list of sounds included in this pack is available on the release page. The F/O window leak whistle and the nose wheel steering noises can be adjusted by the rear audio control panel situated on the overhead panel.

The cabin sounds, on the other hand, are controllable as well, with the Seat Belts and the No Smoking sign controlling the passenger sounds and the boarding music, respectively. The FLT DK DOOR switch controls whether passenger sounds may be heard in the flight deck or not.

Now Available

Immersive Audio’s MaddogX Sound Immersion NG for the Leonardo is now available for purchase via the Orbx store for AUD 24.80. The sound pack is compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024.
