iniBuilds took to their Discord server to announce their latest product for Microsoft Flight Simulator: Johannesburg–O.R. Tambo International Airport. The announcement was made just yesterday and we also have a not-so-distant release date and price point for the product. A teaser trailer was also published.
About Johannesburg–O.R. Tambo International
O.R. Tambo International Airport is the primary airport serving the twin cities of Johannesburg and the capital Pretoria, South Africa. Located in Kempton Park, it is the primary hub for domestic and international travel for South Africa and since 2020 has been Africa’s second busiest airport behind Cairo International. The airport is a hot and high facility; situated 1,700 meters above sea level, the air is quite thin, so its runways are unusually long. Both Airlink and South African Airways are based there and are their networks’ hubs. It was also used as a testing facility for the Concorde to determine its performance during landing and take-off at higher elevations.

Key Features
iniBuilds’ Johannesburg will feature hand-made ground textures, bespoke texture sets for the runways, aprons, paths, and roads, true-to-life airport landside recreation with custom ground decals, and up-to-date airport layout. Further features will include accurately modeled and positioned dynamic airport lighting, highly detailed models of all airport buildings, objects, and surroundings, and an official GSX Pro profile included in the scenery folder. Furthermore, the development team has used the latest MSFS SDK features to allow for the best performance and optimization, and will include custom static aircraft and bespoke taxi signage as it is in the real world.

Closing Notes
iniBuilds’ Johannesburg-O.R. Tambo International Airport will be available to purchase, download, and install on the 27th of September, 2024. The scenery will retail for GBP 14.99 exclusive of taxes. The team has also published a teaser trailer on their YouTube channel which can be viewed below.
