iniBuilds Preview Upcoming Abu Dhabi Airport for MSFS

Abu Dhabi Airport for MSFS is coming to our simulators from iniBuilds. The team shared new previews of the scenery.

Following the successful release of Dubai Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator in December 2023, iniBuilds is moving west to cover a neighbouring airport in the country’s capital city, Abu Dhabi. In a post on their Facebook page, iniBuilds shared new previews of Abu Dhabi Airport scenery for MSFS.

iniBuild’s Abu Dhabi Airport (OMAA) is expected to go well along their freeware Yas Island scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, bringing the island famous for its Formula 1 track, waterpark, and other points of interest to our simulators to explore.

Whilst iniBuilds did not share a feature list of the scenery, their previews give us a good idea of what to expect, ranging from the high-resolution textures and precise modelling to the terminal interior with great attention to detail. The terminal interior includes the smallest details like signs, accurate lighting sources, and passengers.

iniBuilds used to focus purely on lighting models for 3rd-party scenery addons back in the Prepar3D days. Their experience in the field is now visible in their latest projects and today’s previews, suggesting that the scenery for MSFS will feature custom night lighting with precisely placed light sources and set strenght.

From the outside, the developers have paid attention to ground vehicles throughout the airport and airport-specific advertisements, promotion banners and signs. Unfortunately, all these features are just assumed from the previews iniBuilds shared as the team did not include any form of official feature list with the previews.

The release date or price wasn’t mentioned, but we can assume it will be around the 23โ‚ฌ mark based on previous releases of similar size and significance from iniBuilds. Previously, their Dubai Airport scenery was released a day after the Dubai Skyline freeware scenery was released.

In the meantime, while most might be hoping the scenery won’t have performance issues, you can explore other releases from iniBuilds, including Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island freeware scenery or the nearby Dubai Airport scenery.

iniBuilds also announced in late 2023 that they are working on bringing an Airbus A350 to Microsoft Flight Simulator. You can read more about that in our article covering the announcement by clicking here.

Zayed International Airport is the primary airport for the country’s capital city Abu Dhabi. Whilst it does not attract as many flights and passengers as the neighbouring Dubai Airport, it is also a prominent gateway to the country. It is a major hub for Etihad Airways and Air Arabia, serving both short-haul flights in the Middle East and long-haul flights to the whole world. As a fun fact, it is also a base for European low-cost carrier Wizz Air.
