iniBuilds latest release brings Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (HAAB) into the simulator, bringing one of Africa’s most important gateways to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This release has been supported with a dedicated reference trip by iniBuilds and hundreds of photographs.
About Addis Ababa Bole International Airport
Addis Ababa Bole Airport is located in Ethiopia in the Bole district. It was formerly known as the Haile Selassie I International Airport. It is also the main hub of Ethiopian Airlines, serving destinations across Ethiopia, other African destinations and connections to Asia, Europe and America. It serves almost 400 flights a day and is due to be replaced in 2030 by a new hub at Bishoftu International.
It began when Ethiopian Airlines found the runway at Lideta Airport was too short for its new B720, requiring a new airport to be built at Bole. Over time, it has been expanded to support more flights and more passengers annually. The airport has over 60 gates, with Terminal 1 serving domestic flights and Terminal 2 serving international Flights.
iniBuilds Addis Ababa Bole Airport for MSFS 2024
iniBuilds has handmade all the ground textures for the airport with bespoke texture sets for its runways, aprons, taxiways and roads around the airport. These textures have been made alongside hundreds of hand-crafted models, custom buildings, vehicles and highly detailed models of all airport buildings and their surroundings.
Custom ground poly has been included, matching the current real-world layout as of 2026. Alongside taxiway signage built to the true specifications of the real-world signage and custom ground decals, signposts and vegetation. Accurate night lighting and dynamic airport lighting have also been modelled and positioned accurately.
Level of Detail (LOD) optimisation has been used for every model across the airport to pull as much performance out of the airport as possible. iniBuilds have also included a custom GSX profile available in the iniManager. iniBuilds Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 via the iniBuilds Store and the iniManager.
