iniBuilds took to its Facebook page to announce the release of its new add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, El Hierro Airport (GCHI).
El Hierro Airport is located on the southernmost and westernmost island of the Canary Islands. Opened to commercial service in 1972, it serves as a gateway to the island. With its relatively short runway of 1200 m (4100 ft), aircraft that operate at the airport are limited to regional turboprop aircraft; however, it is capable of accommodating larger commercial jets such as A320-family aircraft if required. The airport connects only to two destinations, Gran Canaria Airport and Tenerife-North Airport, with flights operated by two Canary Islands-based airlines: Binter Canaries and CanaryFly.
The add-on features hand-crafted ground textures and bespoke texture sets for the runways, aprons, paths, and roads, alongside detailed building interiors and a highly detailed recreation of the landside area with custom models. It also includes custom taxiway signs, surrounding buildings, dynamic airport lighting, and optimised textures.
