iniBuilds have released their third update for the A350 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. Since its release, the team have been working hard behind the scenes to address bugs and feedback. They have addressed many common crashes with the WASM in this update.
Update v1.0.3
The main purpose of this update to the A350 is to address the WASM crashes that many users have been experiencing in both simulators. So far, iniBuilds has found the main root causes of these crashes with help from the community. The post explained that certain data exchanges may cause sudden increases in memory usage, which results in a crash.

Timing conflicts between third-party services and the A350’s systems also sometimes do not align. This can also cause issues and could cause a crash. The A350’s avionic systems use WASM (WebAssembly) to run its systems. This is a lightweight, secure programming environment. However, WASM needs memory to run add-ons like avionics, custom systems and other third-party systems.
Physical RAM is not the issue with these crashes, as your PC is not running out of RAM. WASM utilises virtual memory, managing its own space within the simulator. If WASM can’t allocate memory correctly, then you will encounter issues. When allocation of this memory fails, WASM can’t properly function and causes the simulator to freeze or crash.
To fix these issues, iniBuilds is now automatically managing the WASM memory to prevent memory leaks. It will now free memory automatically when it’s no longer needed. They are also reducing unnecessary copies of large objects within the memory. Data requesting is now limited to once per second instead of 30 times per second.
With update v1.0.3, you can expect fewer WASM crashes, better memory management in the WASM environment and overall better performance. If you can reproduce any crash reliably, the team would be grateful for your assistance in finding the root cause and a fix for future updates. Read more about the previous update here on FSNews.
