iniBuilds Releases Comprehensive New Update for their Airbus A300 for MSFS

iniBuilds took to their Discord server to announce the release of a comprehensive new update for their rendition of the Airbus A300 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The announcement came as part of the Summer Surprise event along with the previews of their upcoming Airbus A350 for the platform.

What’s new?

The latest changes from the developer for their Airbus A300 bring a lot of new changes and improvements to further the immersion and authenticity of their product. The start-up sequence of the Pratt & Whitney engine variant has been overhauled to deliver an accurate representation of its real-world counterpart. Furthermore, the FMS behavior and ECAM logic for the ENG FADEC channel faults of the aircraft have also received improvements.

The LNAV system has also received an update with a major system rewrite to better handle turns into an initial fix, and into SID/STARs and holds. The VNAV system also received changes and will now respect speed and altitude changes more consistently which will in turn aid the LNAV handling of the aircraft. The bleed PSI, LO OIL PRESS logic, and engine-generator-switching-on trigger have also received improvements and fixes.

The team has also optimized the product to better the performance on lower-end systems. Significant improvements have also been made to overhaul WASM stability and reduce CTDs. Moreover, the EFB of the aircraft has a new feature: simmers can now change the background of the tablet to any picture of your choosing. Animations, modeling bugs, and the sound set of the aircraft have also received fixes and improvements. A complete changelog of what’s included in the new update can be found on their forum page.

The Airbus A300

The Airbus A300 is Airbus’ first-ever production civil aviation aircraft and was the first-ever twin-engine, double-aisle wide-body airliner in the world. Unlike most Airbus aircraft succeeding it, the A300 has a yoke instead of a sidestick and does not utilize a fly-by-wire system. It was also the basis for the oversized Beluga freighter transport. The A300 was launched by Air France on 23 May 1974 and ceased production in July 2007 after 561 deliveries. As of 2023, 197 of them are still in service.
