The developer IronSim has recently published Paro International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

The developer IronSim has recently published Paro International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. IronSim is an independent developer who has created various sceneries for the Microsoft Flight Simulator platform and has a history of developing products for the Prepar3D platform.

About Paro International Airport

Paro International Airport (ICAO: VQPR) is Bhutan’s only international airport. It is situated at an altitude of 2,250 metres above sea level in the Himalayan mountains. It was opened in 1968 and features a single 1964 metre-long runway, which requires pilots to execute one of the world’s most challenging approaches. Pilots must thread a narrow corridor between 5,500 m peaks and execute a steep turn short of the runway threshold. Only specially trained crews and aircraft certified for high-altitude operations are permitted.

Features of the Product

IronSim’s rendition of Paro International Airport is based on real-world references and satellite imagery. The scenery was built from the ground up with 4K PBR textures, along with custom ground service equipment and surrounding details.

The developer paid additional attention to Bhutanese traditional architecture design and decorative elements, visible throughout the terminal building.

The airport’s layout and ground markings are realistic and based on satellite data. Please note that the airport night lighting is not included, in keeping with real-world operations. The developer aimed to create an immersive scenery experience while ensuring minimal impact on your simulator’s frame rate. As a result, you can expect little effect on your simulator’s performance.
