Jeli Studios Announces Samos Airport for X-Plane 11

A new scenery developer in the X-Plane 11 community, Jeli Studios, has recently taken to their Facebook Page to announce the development of their rendition of Samos Airport (LGSM), for X-Plane 11.

The developers promised to bring custom mesh with custom runway profile to the scenery as well as custom night textures, and highly detailed 3D models with UHD textures. Not only that, but we should expect custom autogen, custom vegetation and animated objects to be present in the scenery as well.

In the Facebook post, models of the airport terminal and air traffic control tower were previewed. However, we as well got directly from the developer two screenshots showcasing the texturing work being done on the tower. Both can be seen below.

In the end, it is important to mention, that the scenery is currently planned to be released as freeware. Jeli Studios have very ambitious plans with saying: “Several sceneries for Samos have already been released, but trust us, we will show you soon what we did.“.

When is the scenery expected to release is unknown, however, it looks like it is still in early stages.

Samos International Airport, is also known as Aristarchus Airport, named after the ancient Greek mathematician and astronomer. Summer landings can be a challenge due to wind patterns, a close proximity to mountains, and the fact that the runway finishes where the sea begins.
