JustFlight took to their Facebook page to announce the release of their rendition of the Avro RJ70, RJ85, and RJ100 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The aircraft have been released as a bundle package, “RJ Professional” and is a follow-up to their highly popular BAe 146 release for the platform.
About the Avro RJ
The Avro RJ is a high-wing cantilever monoplane with a T-tail design powered by four LF 507 geared turbofan engines. The RJ is an improved version of the British Aerospace 146 manufactured by Avro International Aerospace. The aircraft is very quiet to operate and has been given the marketing term “Whisperjet”. It is mostly used at small, city-based airports such as London City Airport. The equivalent variants from the BAe 146 are designated the Avro RJ70, RJ85, and RJ100.
Key features of the RJ Professional
The Avro RJ Professional bundle pack from JustFlight features all three improved variants of the BAe 146. The aircraft features an accurately modeled exterior based on images and plans of real-world aircraft along with custom-modeled ground handling equipment (GPU, chocks), a highly detailed passenger cabin, and PBR texturing that produces realistic metallic, plastic, and glass textures. The developers have also added numerous animations, correctly configured optional equipment for each livery and high-resolution 4K/8K texturing.
The cockpit of the aircraft is also highly detailed; the captain and first officer positions are modeled with hundreds of switches, knobs, and controls. The texturing of the cockpit also features lots of wear and tear based on real-world reference photos. Further features also include a custom-coded GNLU-910A FMS, an EFB tablet with numerous features such as boarding simulation, a failures menu, interactive checklists and SimBrief/Navigraph integration, and fully interactive and customizable paper charts and checklists.
The RJ Professional also features fully custom-coded aircraft systems with a high degree of complexity and depth. The air-conditioning and pressurization systems have been modeled, realistic APU start and shutdown procedures, an auto-flight system with multiple modes such as ALT HLD, APP, LVL CHG, HDG SEL, LVAV, and VOR LOC, simulated CAT 3 autoland capability, and realistic fuel load and burn based on real-world flight data. The entire list of the aircraft’s systems, features, and capabilities can be found on JustFlight’s product page.
