Lufthansa Systems Collaborates With Microsoft on MSFS24

Lufthansa Systems has published a major press release about their collaboration with Microsoft and Asobo Studio on their upcoming release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, where they have disclosed that the simulator is going to use Lido navigation data and charts.

Lido Sky Data and Lido Route Manual are going to create a base for navigation in the new simulator, with millions of enthusiasts having access to real-world navigation systems through this popular simulator platform.

Philipp Barzen, head of Lido at Lufthansa Systems is quoted in this press release, stating that he is also a big flight simulator enthusiast, and believes that the realism is going to be improved even further with their navigation data available.

The navigation data available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be brought on par with the real-world AIRNC 424 for standardized navigation information, like the airports, waypoints, navaids, airways and terminal charts. The charts in the simulator will also intuitively display SIDs and STARs and approach procedures.

Thus, there’s currently a race between two big names in the navigation aspect of flight simulators, Navigraph and Lufthansa, with Navigraph still expanding their possibilities with the recent updates, which you can read more about here.
