Majestic Software Shares Q400 Progress Update for MSFS

Majestic Software has shared a new development update on its upcoming Dash 8 Q400 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

Majestic Software has shared a new development update on its upcoming Dash 8 Q400 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, following a few months of silence since the last post.

Since the last update, Majestic says development of the Q400 has been progressing well, despite busy schedules, work, and other life priorities. Currently, a significant amount of time is being spent reworking the exterior model.

At the same time, systems functionality in the flight deck is also being updated and is said to be progressing well. Majestic said it is focusing on balancing the aircraft’s visual quality with systems implementation and overall simulator performance. The team is currently working on final corrections to the exterior model, based on the real aircraft’s specifications and in collaboration with some real-world operators.

Majestic also shared additional images, as well as a short video showing the current state of systems implementation. The developer notes that the aircraft’s cockpit modelling has not yet begun, and that the cockpit shown is currently a placeholder from the Prepar3D version.

Lastly, Majestic also reiterated that the Dash 8-300 remains part of the roadmap and that work on the aircraft is planned to begin a few months after the Q400 is released. The Q300 will be a complete rebuild for MSFS 2024 only. The full development update can be found on Majestic Software’s official forum post here.
