Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Update 1.2.7.0: Career Mode Updates and More

Microsoft has released the first major update for their Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 which brings many bug fixes and several improvements.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS2024) has received its first major update with the release of version 1.2.7.0. This patch brings significant improvements across various aspects of the simulator, focusing on career mode enhancements, a feature to toggle old MSFS2020 add-ons directly in the simulator, aircraft overhauls, various bug fixes, and many more new features to improve the overall experience for virtual pilots.

Career Mode Gets Key Features and Fixes

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version 1.2.7.0 enhances the controversial Career Mode with new features and important fixes. Virtual pilots can now rename their company in the management screen. This is just one of the many features flight simmers requested after the launch. Again, this shows Microsoft’s dedication to implementing features based on user feedback. In the almost endless list of bug fixes are issues like incorrect wear percentages, insurance coverage displays, and aircraft wear status listed. Other improvements handle refined mission rewards.

Updates for Multiple Aircraft

This Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 update introduces key changes to several aircraft, addressing community-reported issues and refining aircraft behavior. Adjustments to avionics systems make instrument navigation more accurate and reliable. Along with that, new liveries for both Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner and the Airbus H125 were added. Textures for multiple other planes have been enhanced to improve detail and realism for both interiors and exteriors. For instance, “disrespectful markings” previously present in the Cessna Grand Caravan have been removed. (We all wonder why they were there in the first place.)
These refinements are just some of the ways to enhance the sense of authenticity, polishing the MSFS2024 package after its rough takeoff.

Performance Improvements and Fix of Crashes

One of the standout aspects of this update which everyone will be happy about is the optimization of overall performance. This includes fixes to reduce stutters during the simulation. On the technical side, improved memory management helps prevent various crashes and ensures smoother operation across different hardware configurations. For all flight simmers, these enhancements mark a significant boost in stability, reducing the likelihood of crashes during the most critical moments of long-haul flights.

Scenery and World Updates

Version 1.2.7.0 also brings improvements to all world updates, which are compatible with MSFS2024, that were released over a span of four years for MSFS2020. Select regions now feature enhanced landscapes with updated terrain textures, more realistic lighting effects, and more detailed cities. These changes not only add to the visual appeal but also enhance the overall immersion even further than just the streamed content.

Update Details

Microsoft has encouraged users to continue providing feedback through official forums and bug-reporting channels. With this huge update, the development team has shown their commitment to addressing community concerns and deciding on new features to meet the high expectations of the community. This update will be automatically downloaded at the next start of the launcher and is already available.
