Miltech and Blackbird have released their long-awaited MH60 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The MH60 is a collaboration project between Blackbird Simulations and Miltech Simulations. It includes 3 variants of the highly popular MH60 alongside a highly detailed model and systems.
About the MH60
The MH60 has three variants that each have their own skill set. The MH-60S is primarily used for anti-surface warfare, disaster relief and combat search and rescue. It replaced the ageing fleet of H-46D helicopters in the US Navy and brings with it liquid crystal displays and a complete glass cockpit. It was built by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation.
Sikorsky also built the MH-60R (Romeo), which had different purposes in warfare. The Romeo was built primarily for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare. Unlike the Sierra, it is not used for search and rescue and disaster relief. It carries torpedos and air-to-ground missiles for surface and subsurface targets. It focused on tracking and engaging enemy ships and submarines.

Tango was Sikorsky’s third variant of the MH-60 and is used by the US Coast Guard. It was originally named the HH-60J but was upgraded and redesignated in 2007 as the MH-60T. Tango is a multi-mission, medium-range helicopter and is used for various search and rescue and environmental missions. Its distinctive look comes from the radar on its nose.
Miltech/Blackbird MH60 Features
The MH60 from Miltech and Blackbird includes an ultra-detailed 3D model, hand-crafted from a survey of the real aircraft. The model was crafted by the team at Blackbird Simulations through extensive imagery. It also features a highly realistic flight model, tested and validated by a real MH60 flight crew.

Systems include a fully customised AFCS/SAS, supporting all modes according to the aircraft documentation. These flight systems are accompanied by realistic weapon systems, including semi-functional weapons. There will be four sling load options: pallets, flags or a Bambi bucket and 2 acoustic elements. The Sonodipper will also be functional with the Mission Hub.
Miltech and Blackbird have created a comprehensive simulation of all the aircraft systems and avionics with custom MFDs and PDs. The MH60 systems are based on the U.S. Navy’s Block I MH-60S manuals, according to Blackbird. A virtual “Crew Chief” will also be featured to guide you on VERTREP and SAR Missions.

Included in the add-on are three variants, the MH60 Sierra, Romeo, and Tango. All three are accompanied by 39 different liveries to choose from. A custom sound set has also been crafted by Echo 19 using 100% recordings of a GE T700-GE-401 from a real UH-60. This collaboration between Miltech and Blackbird will also bring 4 mini-sceneries for different missions and operations.
Miltech and Blackbird Simulations’ MH60 is available now from the Blackbird Simulations Store for $37.99 or on the Miltech Simulations Store. It is compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. You can read more about previous releases by both Miltech and Blackbird Simulations here on FSNews.
