Miltech Simulations has announced the Classic Series 8, a rendition of the de Havilland Canada DHC-8 Q200 and Q300 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The developer revealed the project in a Facebook post, saying the team has been working on it in secret for some time. A near-identical post from FSimStudios says that studio has been working alongside Miltech for the past couple of years.
The DHC-8, widely known as the Dash 8, is a twin-engine turboprop regional airliner. The Q200 and Q300 belong to the earlier Classic generation of the family, which came before the larger Q400. The aircraft has been used for regional airline services as well as for government and special-mission work, which fits the developer’s “military to civilian” description.

According to Miltech, the project is being made with the cooperation of PAL Aerospace and PAL Airlines, two Canadian operators of the type. The developer says it will include “study level” avionics, a fully custom UNS-1 flight management system, and systems and failure simulations. More than 60 liveries are planned, and the team says the aircraft was developed and tested by pilots certified on the type.
Miltech says the Classic Series 8 will arrive for MSFS 2024 in 2026, but no exact release date has been given. The developer has revealed that the Q200 and Q300 will come in passenger, maritime patrol (MPA) and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR, PAL) variants. On top of that, the Q300 will also come in the special C-147A Paratrooper and R-06A Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance variants.

“More information coming soon” is all the post says about further details. No price was announced, and the developer has not yet published a product page or named a store. We will follow the project and report when the developer shares more.
