Miltech Simulations Announces the MH-60 for MSFS

Miltech Simulations have announced their next helicopter project for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 via discord. This project is in partnership with Blackbird Simulations. Both teams are very excited about the project, which is now in its final stages of development.

About the MH-60 Helicopter

The MH-60 has three main variants, the Jayhawk, Sierra and Romeo. The MH-60 is a multi-mission, twin-engine helicopter built by Sikorsky Aircraft. It proves useful for search and rescue, military readiness, law enforcement and marine environmental protection. It is prominently used by the United States Coast Guard for search and rescue.

Sikorsky began production in 1990 with its first flight in 1989. Production ended six years later in 1996. It was developed from the SH-60 Seahawk. The cruising speed is 161mph, but is capable of reaching 207mph for short periods. It can fly for up to seven hours on nearly, 3000ย kg of fuel. The Jayhawk variant has a unique and distinctive nose as a result of its weather radar.

Miltech Simulations MH-60

The MH-60 project is the culmination of several years of research and development in sling loads, weapon systems and mission-based content. Miltech says the project is now in its final stages of development. This means the add-on will be released in roughly two months or less. There is no exact date for this release yet.

Miltech and Blackbird will be covering the Sierra, Romeo, and Jayhawk variants of the helicopter. These variants will come with a range of special features, cabin configurations and some hand made โ€œmini sceneriesโ€ as described by Miltech. They are also now working on a brand new, revolutionary mission system which will support the MH-60 and their previous aircraft.

Development Vlogs will be released over the coming weeks. These vlogs will cover the content of the development process so far. Miltech had the opportunity to get close up with an MH-60 helicopter a few weeks ago. They will use this opportunity to enhance their development process and the accuracy of the aircraft.

Many simmers following this have been wondering about the UH-60. The UH-60, the famous “Blackhawk”, is based on a similar frame to the MH-60. However, the aircraft has an entirely different avionics suite. The team are aware of the demand and are considering releasing a UH-60 variant in the future. There is currently no ETA on this.
