MK-Studio Final Previews of Helsinki for P3D

MK-Studios has today taken to their Facebook page to share the last set of previews showcasing their upcoming scenery of Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (EFHK) for Prepar3D before the release. First mentioned back in early May 2020, the scenery has been highly anticipated within the community especially with the latest release of JustSim’s scenery covering the same airport.

It has been mentioned in the comment section, that the scenery will not feature sloped runways. This was explained, that is due to the current SDK of the simulator not being “good enough”. We can, however, expect sloped runways in sceneries for MSFS.

The only feature that is currently known is the seasonal variation of the scenery which has been teased in todays set of previews and can be seen in the featured image.

The release date and pricing details are yet unknown. It has been, however, mentioned in the past, that the developers are aiming to release the scenery prior to the upcoming CTP (Cross the Pond) VATSIM event happening on November 14th 2020.

Based on the previous posts, the beta testing is taking place on their Dublin Airport (EIDW) scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Keflavik for the new simulator is still a work in progress, and the developer is aiming to port over all their sceneries to the new simulator.

Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (EFHK) is with over 21 million passengers annually, the busiest airport in Finland. It is located just outside of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Furthermore, it serves as a hub for Norra and Finnair, Finnish flag carrier. Flights to, and from, Europe, Asia, or North America, for example, are operated at the airport.
