MK Studios Announces Two New European Airports, Addresses MSFS2024 Development

Today, the developer MK Studios shared some news about their development in the near future through their Discord server. With the number of questions about the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 development from the community’s side, MK Studios also addressed these questions in this short development update.

Two New European Airports Confirmed

It seems like the developer started to focus a bit more on the European continent. With the recent updates to the Keflavik Airport and the soon-to-be-released Lisbon v2, MK Studios continues by announcing Zurich and Dusseldorf for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Matt from the team mentioned that they plan to release Zurich by the end of this year, and Dusseldorf should follow in the first quarter of next year.

Even though the main focus now seems to be on Europe, American airports are not being left out, and a major update should follow for MK Studios LaGuardia Airport once Terminal C is completed. The team also teased a new airport on the West Coast of the United States. However, only through a single sentence, and no more information is not yet known.

MSFS2024 Development

In general, all of the current and future Microsoft Flight Simulator sceneries will get a dedicated 2024 version free of charge. However, the older products might not be compatible at first, as MK Studios used a bit different development techniques back then.

The sceneries will so need some reworks, but that won’t prevent end users from using them in the new simulator, although no support will be provided and bugs might appear. During the next year, MK Studios expects that most of flight simulator users will be moving to the new simulator once add-ons are compatible.
