MK Studios took to their Facebook page to announce the release of their rendition of Adelaide Airport (YPAD) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The southern gateway to Australia is their first rendition of an Oceanic continent airport for the platform. MK Studios introduced the product last week, slating it for release today.
About Adelaide Airport
Adelaide Airport, located approximately 4 miles west of the Adelaide central business district, is an international, domestic, and general aviation airport serving Adelaide, Australia. It is the fifth busiest in the country in terms of passenger movements, serving a record-breaking 8.7 million passengers. First established in 1955, it now features scheduled passenger services from over 30 destinations. YPAD serves as a hub for Virgin Australia, a focus city for Qantas, and as an operating base for several airlines, including JetStar. It is also capable of serving A380s and B747s.

MK Studios’ Adelaide Airport is a highly detailed and accurate rendition of the real-world location. It features detailed buildings and infrastructure based on thousands of references, custom terrain elevation and runway profiles, custom taxiway lighting and models, and a fully developed terminal building complete with a modeled interior. Further features of the rendition also include custom jetway models with a walk-through option in MSFS2024, animated vehicles, an up-to-date airport layout referencing the latest charts, and custom modeled taxiway signs.
The developers have also ensured compatibility with AI traffic add-ons such as FSLTL, JustFlight’s FS Traffic, etc. The airport also features custom approach light models, custom aerial images, and new SafeDock FleX docking devices.
