MK-Studios Rome Fiumicino Releasing 24th February

With VATIM’s biggest event slowly approaching, MK-Studios has earlier today publicly announced the release date of their much-awaited Rome Fiumicino Airport (LIRF) for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Shared together with three new previews of the scenery, the developers have confirmed that the release is scheduled for 24th February 2022. Essentially, as Rome Fiumicino Airport is one of the hot candidates for this year’s Cross the Pond airport, the developers will also want to release the Prepar3D variant before it takes place.

Cross the Pond event is going to happen on April 2nd, 2022. The specific release date of the Prepar3D variant was not disclosed yet. The same applies to any pricing details in regards to the addon.

There is not much information we know about the scenery features. Being it MK-Studios, and estimating based on their previous works, the scenery should offer 4K textures with PBR materials, up-to-date airport layout, dynamic lighting, or custom terrain mesh.

Today’s update from the developers brings good news. Back in November 2021, the developers had to delay the release from the initially planned Q1-Q2 of 2022 to an unspecified date. It seems like the issues have been fixed, and the scenery is again on its way to release in the originally planned timeframe.
