MK Studios has released a new update (v1.1.0) for its Düsseldorf Airport (EDDL) scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, bringing one of Germany’s busiest airports to the simulator with a highly detailed and modern scenery package. Located around six kilometers north of Düsseldorf’s city center, the airport serves as the main gateway to the North Rhine-Westphalia region and handles millions of passengers each year.
The scenery has been developed with a strong focus on visual accuracy and realism, featuring detailed airport buildings, high-quality textures, and a fully recreated layout based on the current real-world airport configuration. MK Studios has modeled the main terminal areas and passenger zones, allowing sim pilots to experience the airport environment with a high level of immersion during both ground operations and approach phases.

According to the developer, the add-on includes custom-built airport infrastructure such as jetways, service areas, and numerous handcrafted objects placed throughout the airport environment. These elements are designed to match the real airport layout as closely as possible while maintaining good performance within Microsoft Flight Simulator.
In addition to the detailed structures, the scenery also features updated ground layouts, accurate taxiway and runway markings, and custom airport lighting designed to improve immersion during both daytime and night operations. The goal of the project is to recreate Düsseldorf Airport in a way that reflects its real-world appearance while remaining optimized for smooth simulator performance.

Düsseldorf Airport is the fourth-busiest airport in Germany and an important aviation hub for the region, connecting the city with destinations across Europe and beyond. With the release of this scenery, Microsoft Flight Simulator pilots now have the opportunity to operate flights to and from this major European airport with a much higher level of realism compared to the default simulator version.

The scenery is currently available for around €17.99 (excluding VAT) via flight simulation retailers. More information about the scenery, including additional screenshots and product details, can be found on the official MK Studios product page, where users can learn more about the features included in this detailed airport recreation.
As always, developments like these continue to expand the growing ecosystem of high-quality add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
