MSFS2020 Alpha Build 1.2.10 Released

Microsoft Flight Simulator Team has today released a new update for the Alpha Build – version 1.2.10. Probably the biggest new feature is an Airbus A320 NEO rendition available for the Alpha testers. To update the simulator, simply run the Alpha Build and check for updates.

Asobo Studios, the development studio behind MSFS2020, has worked together with Airbus on this rendition. The new aircraft features, for example, Fly-by-wire system, implemented MCDU and FCU, SID’s a STAR’s support or implemented ground handling features. The developers have made clear, that this is the first version of the plane, and is looking for help in testing.

There are some complex systems in the aircraft that we did not include at this stage in order to ensure focus on the ones that were ready to be tested. (..) You will be able to fly ILS and visual approaches, but full approach functionality is not included in this version.

Based on the post, we should expect an update to the MCDU functionality and audio during the next round of updates.

Although it might look like the aircraft is the only thing that got added in this update, it’s not true. There were, for example, custom ground handling vehicles added to the airports, performance impact has been fixed on airports or there were added tarmac workers on the airports.

  • Radar altimeter callouts report altitude approximately 10 feet higher than they should

  • Radio frequencies don’t update following ATC window set frequencies

  • Scale is not correct for flight path drawing between NAV and ARC modes on PFD
