Multiple Previews of X-Plane Version 12.2.0 Released

 

X-Plane released multiple previews of the next major update for this simulator via their social media pages. Version 12.2.0 was revealed in a roadmap released earlier this month by the developer. The main focus of this new version is a graphical overhaul of some aspects of this simulator. Included in this update are multiple lighting and cloud improvements. Multiple stability improvements in the simulator are also going to be added. During the last few weeks, the developer released new screenshots of the upcoming changes as previews of what is coming.

Roadmap

After the release of the 12.1 updates, there was a positive reception of these changes by the community according to the developer. These updates brought changes to the ATC system and also saw the release of the “Flight Lessons Update”. The developer posted a roadmap detailing what is coming next for X-Plane via their social media pages. Version 12.2.0 is next according to the roadmap, bringing graphics improvements and much more.

This update will address multiple issues like dark cockpits and bring improvements to lighting and clouds inside the simulator. According to the developer, this update is shaping up to be one of the most visually stunning updates yet.

Previews

Over the last few weeks, multiple previews of this update have been posted on the X-Plane social media pages. All previews were shared as pictures showcasing the changes coming in the next update. These previews also showcase how these changes affect the game by comparing an older version of the simulator with the newer version.

X-Plane is going to change dramatically with this update, with more changes like stability improvements and new airport surface textures being added. Right now there is not a release date for this update. However, a social media post by the developer confirmed that this update is coming this year.
