The developer MXI Design has released their rendition of Kaunas Airport (EYKA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, bringing this Lithuanian gateway to life for all virtual pilots.
About Kaunas Airport
Lithuania’s second-largest civil airport started operations in 1988 when airport operations moved to this new facility from the historic S. Darius and S. Girenas Airport in the centre of Kaunas. Back in the day, it was mostly used for mostly domestic flights to Kyiv, Kharkiv, Moscow, Odesa, Simferopol and ล iauliai.
Ryanair, now the largest operator at this airport, started its scheduled flights to this airport back in 2004 and in 2006 it created a base here. The other large airline operating here is Wizz Air, with flights to Alesund, Bergen and London Luton. Ryanair operates routes to more destinations, and among them, we can find Alicante, Bari, Berlin, Bratislava, Copenhagen, Dublin, Stansted and even Paphos or Arlanda.
MXI Design Kaunas Features
MXI Design created a rendition of this airport with an accurately modelled terminal and other airport buildings that are all placed on an up-to-date airport layout. For more realism, the developer also recreated a basic terminal interior. Lastly, the textures are all covered in PBR materials, creating an immersive lighting experience at the airport.
If you would like to get this scenery, you can purchase it via Simmarket for โฌ11.99. You can also read about MXI Design’s other work in one of our articles here.
