NZA Simulations has taken to its Facebook page to announce that its Te Anau Airport (Manapouri Region, ICAO NZMO) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 & 2024 is now in the final stages of development. Being more than two years in the making, Te Anau Airport will be the developer’s largest scenery release to date.

Main Features & Locations to Explore

NZA Simulations has been able to capture authentic reference material of the Fiordland area thanks to local helicopter tour operators, giving the scenery an important layer of realism. The scenery will feature 36 custom Points of Interest (POIs), such as mountain huts, cruise terminals, and the Manapouri Power Station, among other iconic landmarks, as well as:

  • 1 Airport – NZMO Te Anau-Manapouri Airport
  • 1 Airstrip – Monowai Airstrip
  • 7 Heliports – including Luxmore Hut, Fiordland Medical Center, and The Blanket Bay Hotel Pad
  • 1 Float Landing Pad – Cascade Cove
  • 1 Closed Airstrip – NZTZ Farm Airstrip (included and marked as closed)

Release Date & Closing Notes

The developer stated that, although they don’t have a confirmed release date “just yet,” the scenery is already in beta testing and work is being done to release it as soon as possible. The scenery will be available on all supported game platforms. Interested in general aviation? Do not hesitate to check out our Top 5 Single-Engine GA Aircraft for MSFS 2024 article!
