Orbx Simulation Systems took to their Facebook page to announce the release of their rendition of Melbourne Airport (YMML) for the X-Plane 12 flight simulator. The product is their fifth such Oceanic scenery for the platform.
About Melbourne Airport (YMML)
Melbourne Airport, known locally as Tullamarine Airport, is the primary international airport serving the city of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and is the second busiest in the country. It was opened in 1970 replacing the former Essendon Airport. The airport comprises of four terminals, two runways, and a southern freighter apron. The facility operates around the clock and features on-site parking, shopping, and dining. It even has its own suburb and postal code – Melbourne Airport, Victoria, 3045. 33 domestic destinations have direct flights to YMML and a host of international destinations across the Pacific, Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.

Orbx’s latest scenery for X-Plane 12 is meticulously crafted by the development team to reflect the true character of YMML. Melbourne Airport features high resolution 5cm/pixel imagery, an update airport layout referencing the latest charts, SAM and OpenSAM custom animated jetways and VDGS (Visual Docking Guidance System), and dynamic lighting.
The scenery also features animated 3D vegetation, detailed terminal interiors in all main terminals and the control terminal, and is compatible with AI traffic. Further features include custom ground polygons with highly detailed markings, and complete and detailed landside area coverage.
