Orbx has released the Swedish Triple Pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator, created by the renowned indie developer Marcus Nyberg. The pack comprises three airports: Umeå Airport, Kiruna Airport, and Salen Scandinavian Mountains Airport.
Swedish Triple Pack Features
All of the airports included have snow piles and snow trucks during winter, custom high-quality ground textures based on 7-8cm/px ortho imagery, and custom GSX profiles. Each of the airports also has its unique features. In Umeå, we can find a sauna boat located just below the runway 32, as well as a shopping area including the IKEA store and Max Burgers restaurant down the runway 14 approach. When we land in Kiruna, we will find a digital sign showing the current time and the temperature.
About Umeå Airport
The Umeå Airport (UME/ENSU) is located about 5.4 km (3.4 mi) from Umeå city center. In 2023 it was the fourth busiest airport in Sweden, with over 77 thousand people passing through its gates. In winter, the airport serves mostly domestic flights. However, during the summertime, some charter flights are operated to Spain, Greece, or Cyprus.
About Kiruna Airport
The Kiruna Airport (KRN/ENSQ) is located around 10 km (6.2 mi) heading East from the Kiruna city center. In 2023 it was one of three airports in Sweden that served only domestic flights. Its only flights are to Stockholm-Arlanda airport. Last year Kiruna Airport served a little over 21 thousand passengers.
About Salen Scandinavian Mountains Airport
The Salen Scandinavian Mountains Airport is the one of newest airports in Sweden, opened in 2019. The airport is located, as the name suggests, in the Scandinavian Mountains. It serves two small cities, Swedish Salen and Norwegian Trysil. At the airport, only seasonal and charter flights are being operated to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Stockholm.
Orbx Swedish Triple Pack requires 8.53 GB of free disk space and is available for purchase at the Orbx website for EUR 27.82 or USD 29.98. Additionally, Asobo Kiruna airport, which was shipped with the latest World Update Nordics, has to be uninstalled in order to make this scenery work properly.
